Feel free to add thyme or your favorite herbs, pile your veggies into the jar, and top it with olive oil. Put a cap on them, and place them in the fridge. Your veggies will stay preserved for weeks!

Before You Start Making Recipes with Olive Oil, You Should Know...

Most olive oils that you purchase in the market are not pure at all, even if they say that they are pure on the label! You might be surprised to learn about it, but there is actually a big problem with dishonest olive oil products on the market today. A lot of olive oil makers cut the olive oil with many different types of oils, but when you buy olive oil, you want to know that you are consuming olive oil!

Unlike vegetable and seed oils, extra virgin olive oil has many additional antioxidants and polyphenols. With good extra virgin olive oil, you will get what you pay for. Remember, good olive oil is not an oil that you are going to want to cook with. Good olive oil is best used in recipes, such as in a salad dressing or the finish of a piece of grilled fish. Olive oil is a fat that lifts the flavors up around it. Olive oil adds fruit and spice and makes everything else taste better.

How Much Olive Oil is Safe to Consume?

A lot of people are afraid of consuming too much oil. However, olive oil is very good and healthy for you. Unlike other types of cooking oils, olive oil is not going to clog up your arteries. You really can't consume too much olive oil, assuming that it is pure olive oil. That's why you see people drinking olive oil. Olive oil is simply the juice of the olive.
