Four Years Running

Umpqua Dairy is wrapping up 2018 with international awards and recognition. The family-owned dairy was recognized in front of food and beverage manufacturers and suppliers from the United States and South America at the recent Quality Chekd event in Austin, Texas.

Umpqua Dairy received the 2018 Production Excellence Award in both the Ice Cream and Cultured Dairy categories. The awards are based on audits of Umpqua’s Roseburg plant and evaluations of all plant processes and systems for product quality. It is presented to the single best production facility in all the Quality Chekd membership in each category. This is the 4th consecutive year of winning the Ice Cream category.

“These awards are 100% due to Umpqua Dairy’s amazing Oregon employees,” comments Steve Feldkamp, Umpqua Dairy’s Chief Operating Officer. “This is a fantastic way to conclude our eighty-seventh year of providing the local region with quality, fresh and award winning products. This is one of my favorite awards because it’s not only a tribute to our employees, but also our great dairy partners throughout the state,” says Feldkamp. “We use 100% Oregon milk in all our dairy products.”Umpqua Dairy also received Merit Awards in the Fluid Milk, Ice Cream, and Cultured Products categories. These awards are presented to plants that consistently achieve high quality standards as measured with monthly laboratory testing. Umpqua Dairy is one of just four dairy processors to win an Ice Cream Merit Award this year.

“We thank our employees and the local community for supporting our company,” concludes Feldkamp. “It’s a pretty great time to be part of the Umpqua Dairy family.”
