UMPQUA'S COMMITMENT TO YOU - rBST/rBGH HORMONE FREE!
The milk, cream and ice cream in our cartons, jugs and bags comes from family farms in Oregon and SW Washington. These farmers take pride in keeping their animals healthy. To this end they have signed agreements that they will not use the synthetic growth hormone, rBST/rBGH. ALL Umpqua Dairy and Umpqua Ice Cream labeled products are produced from cows not treated with rBST/rBGH. We share the same goals: to provide our customers with a nutritious food whose taste, purity and quality are unsurpassed.*

OUR PACKAGING IS GUARANTEED TO KEEP MILK FRESHER LONGER!
Umpqua Dairy is proud to package their milk in a LIGHT BLOCKING WHITE MILK JUG. It is clear that milk and light do not mix. Research has proven that damaging light rays come from an unexpected culprit...fluorescent fixtures in dairy cases. Our new white jug blocks out the critical wave lengths of light that penetrate clear plastic jugs and degrade the milk inside. Research shows that milk quality in regular plastic jugs begins to degrade the moment it is introduced to light. Essential vitamins suffer damage after only several hours in a supermarket dairy case. The same wave lengths also create light-induced oxidation that results in a distinct off-flavor. Umpqua's new jug blocks these light waves and helps keep your vitamin-rich milk intact. You'll taste the difference! See the links below for research on light oxidation from Cornell University.
RECYCLING WHITE MILK JUGS
Good news for the recycle conscientious. Our white milk jugs are HDPE #2 and are accepted at your local recycle center.
EXCELLENT SOURCE OF CALCIUM AND PROTEIN
Some people don't realize that milk gives you more nutrients than most other beverages - and that's no hype! Drinking milk is one of the most natural ways to give your body the vitamins and minerals it needs to motor through a busy day. Milk is a natural nutrient powerhouse. So, whether you want full-bodied whole milk, fat-free skim, or anything in between, all types of Umpqua milk offer a delicious beverage packed with calcium, potassium, proteins and vitamins.
*The FDA has said that no significant difference has been shown and no test can now distinguish between milk from rBST treated and untreated cows.
