Umpqua Dairy, Market of Choice and Valley River Inn are pleased to present “Sweet, Savory and Fresh”, a Northwest Recipe Contest and Cook’s Competition. We have completed the recipe contest phase of the competition and are pleased to annouce the 9 finalists for the Cook's Competition.

Congratulations to our finalists. They will travel to Eugene, Oregon for the cooking portion of the competition on July 7th, 2012.
The Sweet, Savory and Fresh Cook’s Competition will take place on Saturday, July 7th, 2012 at the Valley River Inn. The event is open to the public from 11 am - 4 pm. There will be live cooking demonstrations by chefs from Market fo Choice and Valley River Inn, as well as interactive booths with sampling and cooking gadget demonstrations. Listen to KDUK FM and KOOL FM in Eugene for your chance to win an Umpqua Dairy Cookbook and Recyclable Shopping Bag at the event.
In addition to great prizes, the winners will be featured in the “2012 Sweet, Savory and Fresh Cookbook”, which is set to be released in fall 2012.
PRIZES:
The Grand Prize Winner will receive a choice of 1 of 4 Oregon Weekend Getaway Packages.
Category winners will receive $250 gift certificate to Market of Choice. There will also be prizes for all finalists.
JUDGING:
1) Recipes will be judged on originality, ease of preparation and the use of Umpqua Dairy Products. 2) Winning recipes will be selected by a selected panel of judges. 3) Judges will disqualify recipes which to their knowledge are previously published recipes. 4) Judges will select 3 finalists from each category. Those 9 finalists will receive a travel package to Eugene, Oregon for Saturday, July 7th, 2012 for a cooks competition. Each finalist will have two hours to prepare and cook recipe for judges. Some pre-prep time will be allowed for recipes that require freezing or refrigeration. 5) Finalists will be selected on or about June 17th, 2012 and notified by e-mail or telephone. Your first name, the city and state you are from will be published on our website, as well as in the 2012 Sweet, Savory and Fresh Cook Book. 6) For a list of winners send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to:

PRIZES:
1) Prizes are nontransferable and may not be redeemed for cash. No substitution of prizes is allowed. The Presenters reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal value. 2) Grand Prize is a choice of 1 of 4 Oregon Weekend Getaway Destinations. One Grand Prize will be given away. 3) Category winner will receive $250 gift certificate to Market of Choice. Two Category Winners Packages will be given away. 4) All remaining finalists will receive a swag basket. Six swag baskets will be given away.
