Roseburg, (OR) – Quality Chekd Dairies, Inc. & Oregon Dairy Industries recognized Umpqua Dairy Products, Co. with several awards recently for outstanding product quality and marketing excellence.

While at the National 2010 Quality Chekd Spring Management and Leadership Conference held in Dallas, Texas, Umpqua Dairy received two Best of Show - Judges Choice Awards for Product Quality, Taste and Appearance. The first Judges Choice Award was for Umpqua Chocolate Ice Cream. The second Judges Choice Award was for Umpqua Dairy Cottage Cheese. They were judged by an independent panel of judges to be the Best for 2010 in all of Quality Chekd.

Also while attending the 2010 Quality Chekd Conference, Umpqua Dairy was the recipient of three Marketing Merit of Excellence Awards. These awards recognize the Quality Chekd member who excelled at communicating its brand of products to consumers and honors innovative and creative marketing programs implemented during a calendar year.
Doug Feldkamp, President of Umpqua stated, that “our marketing team is a forward-thinking group that works tirelessly to ensure consumers know and recognize our products. Receiving these awards from Quality Chekd is a tribute to our efforts and recognizes the success of our campaigns.” Umpqua received the Marketing Merit of Excellence Award for three programs: Best original Radio Spot – Milk – “Magic Cows”; Best Original Point of Sales Materials - Ice Cream – “Oregon’s 150”; and Best Print Ad - Ice Cream – “Oregon’s 150.” Each year member dairies submit their most successful marketing campaigns & elements to a panel of independent judges who review the creativity, messaging and tactical execution of each dairy’s efforts.

Umpqua Dairy was also honored by Quality Chekd with Outstanding Quality Merit Awards in Culture Products and Ice Cream Quality.

Umpqua Dairy received additional nods for dairy product quality at the 2010 Oregon Dairy Industries Annual Convention. Taking home trophies in the following: 1st Place Sour Cream, 1st Place Cottage Cheese, 2nd Place Chocolate Ice Cream, 2nd Place Vanilla Ice Cream. We were selected as the Cultured Products Runner-Up Sweepstakes Winner. In addition we brought home Gold Awards for Quality in Skim Milk, 2% Reduced Fat Milk, Whole Milk, Half & Half, Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocolate Ice Cream, Buttermilk, Cottage Cheese, Sour Cream, Retail Butter and Score Butter.
